1. Kachumber Salad:

It’s no.1.Pakistani Salad Recipe. Kachumar Salad is Type of salad which is made of Totally Raw Food and eaten as a sole dish. It’s the Recipe with only three with spices.

Let’s start the recipe.

Ingredients:

Cucumber one cup, cut into small cubes.

Tomatoes one cup, cut into small Squares or cubes

Onions one cup, cut into small Squares or cubes

Lemon juice or two tablespoons

Salad’s Spice (Chaat Masala) one teaspoon full

Salt as per taste or half teaspoon

Green chillies two, cut into thin round shaped slices

Fresh Coriander One cup, cut into small pieces

Fresh mint half cup, cut into small pieces

Method

Mix all the vegetables in the large bowl, mix then add the whole ingredients. Add Spice Powder, Lemon or Vinegar and Salt, and mix again. Serve with a curry or flat bread, or as a sole dish.

Old-aged people are used Kachumber Salad as a cure for upset Stomach. But it’s tasty and nutritious too.

2.Kachaloo Salad:

It’s no.2.Pakistani Salad Recipe, made of boiled Potatoes with red chillies powder and Tartaric acid. So it’s very much Spicy but tasty. It has only Four ingredients with salt, but yet it is very much famous

Let’s start the recipe.

Ingredients

Potatoes two cups Boiled and cut into Medium sized Squares or cubes

Red chillies powder one teaspoon full

Tartaric acid quarter teaspoon, if it is not available or do you have problem something else, use vinegar or lemon juice two tablespoons full

Salt half teaspoon or as per taste

Method

Mix Potatoes and all other ingredients. Mix well and serve, Kachaloo is ready to eat. Eat as a snack or serve with meals.

3.Mixed Vegetables Salad:

It is 3.Pakistani Salad Recipe, Popular at every where in routine meals and eaten with all the meals either they are Spicy or simply, plain rice. One can use any kind of vegetables with boiled eggs and Potatoes. But Onions, Cucumber, Redish, Beet root, Carrots, Tomatoes are used much with fresh or green Coriander and eaten. No accurate or equal quantity is necessary, use whatever vegetables you like with whichever quantity you like.

Ingredients

Onions one cup, if you don’t like you can skip. Cut into thin slices, then add a quarter teaspoon of salt, mix and set aside.

Carrots one cup,bcut as you like, round but thin slices or Long pieces

Beet root one cup, cut into small Squares or cubes

Reddish one cup,cut into small Squares or cubes

Cucumber one cup, cut into thin slices

Tomatoes one cup cut into thin slices

Cabbage (optional) one cup, cut into long and thin pieces

Fresh Coriander leaves one cup, cut into thin pieces or add just leaves

Salt one teaspoon or as per taste

Black Pepper half teaspoon

Lemon juice or vinegar two tablespoons

Method

First wash the Onions into a strainer, then strain well but don’t squeeze and set aside. This recipe makes Onions sweet and takes their strong smell with bitterness.

Mix well all the Vegetables in a large bowl, add salt and black pepper, squeeze lemon juice or vinegar mix well again. Mixed vegetables Salad is ready. Serve with all types of meals of Meats and Grains or Rice.

4.Onion’s Salad:

It’s 4.Pakistani Salad Recipe with only one ingredient, a little bit of Salt and Vinegar. But yet it is easiest and Famous type of Salads in Pakistani Cuisine

Ingredients

Onions one cup, cut into thin round shaped slices, sprinkle quarter teaspoon Salt then set aside for ten minutes.

Salt quarter teaspoon or as per taste

Black pepper quarter teaspoon

Green or Fresh Coriander leaves: quarter cup, cut into thin slices or use whole leaves, as you like.

Vinegar or Lemon juice one teaspoon

Method:

Firstly wash the Onions as defined in the above recipe of Salad.

Now put Onions into a bowl or palate, squeeze Lemon juice or Vinegar. Add black Pepper and Salt, mix well. Then garnish with green Leaves of Coriander, your Onions Salad is ready. It is served especially with bar bq items or fried meat or curry.

5.Cucumber Salad:

It 5.Pakistani Salad Recipe, has only one main Food item with Salad Spice (Chaat Masala) yet it is tasty.

Ingredients

Cucumber two Cups, cut into thin slices

Vinegar or Lemon juice two tablespoons

Chaat Masala one teaspoon

Salt as per taste because Chat Masala has already Salt

Method:

Mix Cucumber slices, salt and Chaat Masala well with Vinegar or Lemon juice. Cucumber Salad is ready.

6.Chick-peas Salad

It has the largest number of spices with boiled Chick-Peas. It is called Chana or Cholay Chaat.

Ingredients

Chick-pea two Cups boiled. It is necessary to soak them one night or minimum 8-10 hours with one teaspoon of baking soda before boiling otherwise Chick-pea would not cook well, add also one teaspoon salt.

Chaat Masala one teaspoon

Red chilly powder one teaspoon

Green chillies two, cut into thin slices

Fresh coriander for garnish

Mint leaves for garnish

Boiled Potatoes one cup, cut into small cubes

Black pepper quarter teaspoon

White Pepper quarter teaspoon

Tomatoes one cup, cut into slices

Papdi or Papri ( Accurate Urdu sound) is available in the market or one can make themself.

Yogurt one Cup (optional)

Ingredients of Papri

Flour one cup

Oil for frying

Salt one bunch

Oil one tablespoon

Method:

First make Papri, Make a dough of flour, salt and one tablespoon of oil with Water. No much hard or soft dough should be kneaded just knead well. Now make small balls, and roll four inches round shaped Flat breads and deep fry into Oil then set aside.

Now mix the whole ingredients into a large bowl except green leaves, Tomatoes, Yogurt and Papri.

At a time of serving topped every serving with few Papri Breads, tomatoes, fresh leaves and Yogurt. You can add some more Potatoes and Chaat Masala as per taste. Or serve with small bottles of Chaat Masala and salt with Vinegar or Lemons half cut Pieces.

Note: Papri Breads can be made one day before and it can be saved for a month. It’s alone eaten with Tea or cooked Pulses.
