Tesla, a car company from California, just released the new Tesla Model 3. The new model is supposed to be an affordable electric car for the masses and will have a starting price of $35,000. They also have a plan to produce 500,000 vehicles per year eventually.
The Model 3 comes equipped with an 85kWh lithium-ion battery, which makes for a range of 215 miles per single charge. That’s about double what most other electric cars can do on a single account.
The Model 3 also has a 0-60mph time of 5.6 seconds and can speed up from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, which is close to that of Tesla’s luxury cars, like their sportscar Roadster 2.5. Those are impressive figures for an electric vehicle, let alone one that costs under $40k.
What’s even more exciting is that Tesla plans to continue adding updates so that it gets better over time.
For example, they intend to add autopilot features and a car charger capable of charging your vehicle faster than ever.
