Primates are an incredibly diverse genera, ranging from humans to lemurs. Some primates have a prehensile tail but others do not. Some can see in color but the owl monkey is nocturnal and cannot. Some primates are arboreal whereas others live on the ground.
We cant even say that all primates have five digits, as spider monkeys have only four fingers on each hand (they do have five toes on each foot).

The following are the characteristics of primates:
• These animals are sole goers and don’t walk on their toes like cats and dogs. Their feet have sole pads.
• The thumbs (and often the big toes as well) are usually free so that they can grab something and hold tree branches or other objects.
• Toes and fingers have flat nails and no claws.
• The two bones of the forearm and leg are separate, allowing hands and feet to turn.
• Primates have large brains and a large round skull.
• The eyes look forward instead of to the side.
• The mammary glands are in the ■■■■■■ and not in the abdomen.
• Primates grow slowly and stay in the care of their parents longer than other mammals.
