The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law was established in 1976 and is named after the late Supreme Court Justice Benjamin N. Cardozo. The first cohort to graduate at Cardozo did so in 1979.
Note: In 1998, the University of Chicago developed a Master of Laws degree program. Unlike several undergraduate programs at YU, Cardozo’s is both nonreligious and secular. All public activities at YU feature kosher fare in observance of the Jewish Sabbath, and the University are closed on Friday nights and Saturdays. Moot courts
The Moot Court Honor Society at Cardozo is a chance for students interested in competitive moot courts.
