How many Pokémon are there? Each of the 924 (and more to come in future games) fictitious Pokémon species has its look, set of abilities, and special moves. The Pokémon franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in the early 1980s, and the Pokémon and the Pokémon World itself are both made up.

Generation I:
These Pocket Monsters date back to the first generation. The evolution of the Pokémon franchise began with Rhydon. In addition to Red and Green, my favorite Pokémon game was Yellow since I found Pikachu’s expression hilarious, and having him follow me promoted social interaction.
They announced the first 151, and the last one was the notorious Mew, but that’s another story.
Generation II:
The next generation: where would the show go from here? Then expand and improve upon it. The formula was successful, and 100 new Pokémon were unveiled with the release of the next generation. Ho-Oh, Lugia, and the legendary animals (let’s not call them dogs) Raikou, Entei, and Suicune are some of the most notable newcomers, and some would even claim that they are the best Legendaries.
Seeing as how Pokémon Gold and Silver covered two regions, we may assume that the franchise was doing quite well.
Generation III:
As the anime entered its third generation, things started to take up, and viewers were left wanting more. In addition to Legend Rayquaza, Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald also included Groudon and Kyogre.
However, that wasn’t all; the game also had hidden items and actions that would reveal the Regiice, Regirock, and Registeel levels. As a worthy addition, it gave trainers access to 135 more Pokémon.
Generation IV:
A lot of people think Generation IV was the best because it featured such strong starters, excellent anime, and 107 brand-new Pokémon from Sinnoh. The legends of Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina were shared with us.
All of the Pokémon, but especially the ones that had recently evolved, were interesting and entertaining in their own right. It was the Eveeloutions that I enjoyed the most. While playing with the new Pokémon was great fun, some of them are just. Look it up, Drifloon is a thief who kidnaps toddlers just as he says he does.
This anime and game did an excellent job of introducing a new generation to the Pokémon franchise.
Generation V:
The 156 new Pokémon introduced in Generation V are the most recent additions. Even though this generation is not my favorite, the games were fantastic. They introduced many novel features and aesthetic adjustments that were well-received by the audience.
Players agree that Black 2 and White 2 are among the series’ finest entries. Thunderous, Landorous, and Tornadoes were acceptable legendries, but they didn’t particularly grab my attention. A strong offering for everyone, but not for me personally.
Generation VI:
I think my favorite anime is the one made for Generation X and Y. Characters like Serena, who is beloved by nearly all of the fandom, were hilarious and contributed to the epic plot. There were 72 new Pokémon introduced in the series, but I will get into the series’ main selling point, Mega Evolution, in a bit.
The series was transforming, and everything seemed to be progressing as planned.
Generation VII:
The seventh generation, Sun and Moon, aimed for originality by introducing Pokémon with novel designs, such as the Alolan Executor’s long neck. While both the anime and I deviated from their usual formats, 88 new Pokémon were included in the canon.
It was a moment of transition for the series, and many new things were tried (including the Ultra Beasts, about which I am still undecided). To a large extent, this generation’s formula was reworked due to the introduction of new varieties.
Generation VIII:
There were 89 new Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII, most of them appearing in the Galar region. Legends of Arceus threw a curveball by adding seven more Pokémon and revealing some ancient Pokémon forms.
The generation also included Gigantimax forms, which will cause some confusion but will be discussed in more detail later. The legendaries weren’t amazing, but they were a nice touch. Amazing and entertaining were the transformed forms of Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltress.
The series has reached a good eighth installment, but we’re waiting for the ninth. That’s a total of 905, but we know from the most recent showcase that the three starters and their evolutions, plus extra Pokémon like Fidough (whom I like), bring the total to 922 as of right now.

NATIONAL POKEDEX (AS OF GENERATION VIII)
The creation of Wyrdeer and Basculegion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus brings the total number of Pokémon that are their species in the National Pokedex to 900 (not counting Shiny Pokémon or other forms).
Generation II added 100 new Pokémon, including 5 Legendary Pokémon, while Generation III added 135 new creatures since the first Pokémon was published. Generation IV added 107 Pokémon, Generation V added 156, Generation VI added 72, Generation VII added 88, and Generation VIII added 89.
POKEDEX (WITH FORMS)

With the arrival of the sequels, the number of Pokemon in the Galar region’s Pokedex jumped to 400. There are 319 classic Pokémon in the game from the outset, and 81 from Generation VIII were made available.
Meowth, Zigzagoon, Rapidash, and Darmanitan are just a few of the 13 different Galarian forms seen across all of the games.

New Pokemon Snap
Certain varieties of Pokémon can only be found at certain stages of the New Pokemon Snap game. For instance, out of a total of 33 Pokemon, 26 are exclusive to Florio Nature Park. However, there are a total of 234 Pokemon to catch and train in this game.
POKEMON GO
The mobile game Pokémon Go continues to have a large fan base throughout the world. Even though Generations V, VI, and VII weren’t finished, fans’ demands led to the addition of the most recent generation of Pokemon to the game.
Only Pokemon from Generations I and II are playable, while Mythical Pokémon and Rotom forms from Generation IV are absent.
Pokemon Masters
The Pokemon Masters side game requires you to find a Sync Pair that specializes in training a certain Pokemon. You start the game with Pikachu and the Sync Pair Misty and Starmie, and you later recruit Brock and Onix. More than 200 Sync Pairs are available for recruitment.
CAFÉ MIX JUMP
When compared to other Pokemon video games, Cafe Mix Jump is somewhat different. Instead, Pokemon require you to befriend them before they volunteer to join your team. There are a total of sixty Pokemon in the game that can be hired as support workers, though two of them Timburr and Pelipper cannot be recruited.
Mystery Dungeon
There are 418 Pokemon to choose from, spanning generations one through three, including 45 Mega Evolutions. Additionally, Primal Reversion can be found in the Mystery Dungeon, in addition to Lucario and Riolu making an appearance out of nowhere.
In this game, you’ll be exploring dungeons in search of Pokemon to add to your squad, rather than capturing them like in other Pokemon games.
POKEMON UNITE
In the newest game to hit the Internet, players take on the roles of several monsters, each with unique abilities and aesthetic preferences. There are a total of 29 playable characters, each of whom starts with only the most fundamental statistics and evolves as the player’s Pokémon gains experience over a game.
The only character who does not evolve is Pikachu; others like Charizard, Venusaur, Garchomp, and Dragonite will. Who do you think is the best Pokemon player of all time?
Pokémon Legendaries
These Pokémon are among the rarest in the world, and some, like Dialga, Palkia, and the famed Mewtwo, are one of a kind. The legends and tales surrounding these Pokémon are as extensive as they are epic.

Ultra Bbeasts
Here, the show began to dabble in some new ideas. The Pokédex indeed classifies them as legendary, but my gut tells me they’re just really powerful regular Pokémon. They come from unknown dimensions, and our knowledge of them is limited.
They may be legendary in the eyes of some, but I fear I will never really comprehend them. With the classifications settled, we can move on to the information we have about the variants. The hornn on a male Rhydon is larger than on a female, while the male Xatu has three lines on its body while the female only has two.
Due to evolution, several forms of some Pokémon would exist. All of these, and more, modes of metamorphosis, will be discussed in detail.

Basic Pokémon Forms

The Pokémon Shellos and it’s East and West Sea variants are identical in every way except for their coloration. this is in contrast to Unown, which comes in 28 different variations. All of this is done without considering Shiny forms, thus it’s reasonable to assume that even if their appearances change, the Pokémon itself is unchanged.
Regional Forms
Pokémon species that are isolated from one another due to environmental factors evolve differently, resulting in the appearance of new and interesting characteristics. As with the legendary Pokémon, these debuted in the Alola area of Pokémon Sun and Moon and have since become series mainstays.
Examples of such Pokémon are the Alolan Sandshrew and the Galarian Corsola, both of which share many similarities but which may have different types, attributes, and even statistics. Some of them are so dissimilar that it’s hard to believe they’re all considered the same Pokémon.
I already brought about Galarian Meowth, but he is something else. Palden: We only know of Wooper at the moment, but there will be more when the game is released.
Mega Evolutions
They are advancing the Pokémon one stage further along the Evolution tree, into a considerably more powerful form. There must be a keystone and a Mega stone for the Pokémon and trainer to use Mega Evolution.
Rayquaza is the only Pokémon that can evolve without a trainer or a mega stone. The Pokémon’s appearance, characteristics, and type can all be altered by switching to one of its many different forms.
There are currently 46 Pokémon that can Mega evolve, giving them a total of 48 possible forms.
Gigantimax
It’s a different form Pokémon can assume in a unique arena while standing atop a power spot. For some Pokémon, it greatly alters their appearance by making them much bigger. It made its debut in Pokémon Sword and Shield, expanding the game’s aarsenal of G-max attacks and paving the way for the debut of G-max Raid Battles.
So, let’s say a Pokémon doesn’t evolve into Gigantimax, but instead just gets bigger through Dynamaxing. The new feature isn’t the finest one, but it gives you something to think about while you play. A total of 32 Pokémon can use Gigantimax.
Pokemon’s Origins and Early Development
The evolution system is best illustrated by Eevee (in the middle) and its eight different forms. To successfully transform into a new species, each requires a unique strategy.
