When the ecobee thermostat restarts, the HVAC system can turn off the thermostat. The most common reasons why the HVAC system will cut power to the thermostat are: If the oven overheats, this sensor will trip and the oven will cut power to the thermostat.
The message Calibration: heating and cooling disabled is displayed on the ecobees screen after the thermostat is turned on. If you think your thermostat has accidentally restarted or restarts frequently, it may restart due to an installation failure or sudden power failure.
Screen Brightness You can set the brightness of the ecobee thermostat screen. You can also configure the monitor to automatically switch to standby mode (i.e. turn off by itself) when the ecobee thermostat goes into its standby period.
1 factory setting
- From the main screen, press Menu.
- Select your settings.
- Go restore.
- Select Reset all settings and confirm your selection with Yes.

Click Settings> Settings> Pending Action and select Until next scheduled task. Now close the settings window. You can also do this on the Ecobee itself by going to Main Menu> Settings> Settings and then tap on Pending Action. Put it on before the next activity and that’s it!

If you have children in the house and are strict with the thermostat, you can lock the Ecobee with a PIN code so that no one but authorized persons can set the temperature. A dumb thermostat usually requires a locked cabinet to house as seen in most businesses.
The Ecobee temperature sensor has an accuracy of +/- 1.0F and is programmed to provide readings every 15 seconds. It takes the previous two values and averages them for the current measurement.
The automatic mode of the ecobee thermostat is ideal for maintaining a comfortable temperature indoors in milder climates or between heating and cooling periods. In this system mode, ecobee displays two setpoints: one for heating and one for cooling.
The main difference is that the Nest Learning Thermostat has more sensors than the Smart Ecobee Thermostat, so the Nest Thermostat can do some math and work a little more in the background to ensure seamless climate control.

The battery is a type for the old ecobee. The sensors in the room are CR2032 (the small silver button batteries). It will run the sensor for 1,824 months. However, the new smart sensors use a CR2477 that lasts for 5 years.
Connect the ecobee thermostat in the SmartThings app. Tap the plus sign (+) on the home screen and select Device. Select ecobee and press Thermostat. Select a location for the device. Select a room for the device and tap Next. Press Click to enter your ecobee credentials.
Retrieving the registration code This code can be obtained by doing the following on the ecobee thermostat screen: 1. Press the three horizontal bars at the bottom left of the ecobee screen to open the main menu. After completing these steps, the code will appear on the thermostat screen.
We recommend that you reset your device and make sure that Switch + is ready to install - press and hold the main button for 5 seconds. Wait for the voice prompt to say “Factory data reset”. Press the main button again. Wait for the yellow light to come on (about 30 seconds). Try again with the ecobee app.
Ecobee features a wireless sensor powered by a Coinell CR2032 battery, which the company says will last around 4 years. You will get a warning when the battery is low.
