A Whirlpool Duet washing machine is an energy efficient front loading washing machine. The filter of a Whirlpool Duet is located under the front panel. A washing filter collects lint that falls from clothes during the washing process. The air filter should be cleaned at least every six months.
Step 1: Find the filter. It is usually located in the lower right corner of the washing machine, so it is easily accessible. Of course, your model may be different, so you may need to consult the instruction manual or take a look at the washing machine to find it.
The location of the drain pump filter in a Whirlpool Duet washing machine is accessible through the lower access door under the laundry door.
- Disconnect the Whirlpool Duet washing machine from the mains.
- Locate the screws that secure the lower access panel to the enclosure.
- Use a 1/4 inch wrench to remove the screws.
Most washing machines have a filter - you can find it behind a small door on the front of the washing machine. It is important to clean this filter regularly as it will catch everything from lint and hair, coins, cloth and more.

Technically, the Lo trap in most magazine discs is a pump filter. Most models like LG, GE, Whirlpool and Splendide are located at the bottom of the washing machine and have a filter that holds coins, keys and lint.
Most front panels have a small door on the bottom of the unit that can be opened to remove lint or debris trapped in the water pump filter. Standard washers and washers typically require removal of the outer casing to access the water pump filter from the rear of the machine.
Some models have a removable mesh filter in the washing machine drum. If you want to find it, feel your fingers along the top of the drum if the machine is equipped with this lint trap, then step in, remove and clean the lint. Top loading washing machines may have a lint filter in the agitator.
