A regional trade agreement designed to allow the smaller, more economically restricted South Pacific island countries tariff-free access for many of their exports into Australian and New Zealand markets. The agreement was signed in1981 by Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Western Samoa.
