Definition of Separation of duties:

  1. The methods and procedures have been established as internal control activities, (1) separation of custody of assets from the accounting team, (2) approval of transactions in custody for the respective assets and (3) operational records. Responsibility to maintain.

  2. Review the policy that no one is responsible for more than one relevant role. For example, the person who made the purchase should not be responsible for the payment. Also known as separation of duties.
