Portable computer system that allows salespersons to quickly identify the needs of a prospect or customer and generate a customized and detailed proposal at the point of sale. SCS devices are often linked via wireless internet or other network to the firms back-end systems for order entry, order fulfillment, delivery, invoicing, etc. See also sales force automation.
