Fish sauce or oyster sauce?

Fish sauce and oyster sauce are very different and not interchangeable.

Oyster sauce is sweeter and does not smell like fish. You can try oyster sauce straight from the bottle, without worrying about the smell of fish. It is not as salty as soy sauce and has a sweet taste. The oyster sauce is thick and has a unique, slightly smoky aroma of soy sauce and dried and cooked oysters.

Fish sauce, on the other hand, smells like fish when raw. Interestingly, the smell of fish is no longer as strong as it used to be in your mouth. It was a dry and salty fish. It's salty (but not as salty as soy sauce) and has a unique flavor. Fish sauce smells like fish but does not smell like fresh or rotten fish. If used in moderation, you will not smell like fish. Dishes like Vietnam P, Pad Thai and Thai Fried Rice smell like fish sauce and are missing from this dish. There are different types of fish sauce. All the fish sauces I have used are small cold ones and are unlikely to spread in large quantities.

I don't like the smell of fish sauce, but I don't mind eating it. I am a person who is very afraid of foods that taste like fish and I tolerate a good amount of fish sauce.

I would definitely use fish sauce as there is no substitute. You need a unique flavor in your pad Thai or it just won't taste good.

PS Some of my friends like the taste of oyster sauce until they know it is oyster sauce. I also gave cheese to my grandmother and she liked cheese so much that she found out that something unknown is actually cheese. Don't let food upset you psychologically. :)

PPS: Good oyster sauce does not stink. I bought a bottle of premium fish sauce and it didn't smell like fish at all. Unfortunately, it does taste like fish. Medium range fish sauce has a musty or fishy aroma. :)

I'm going to make Pad Thai and most of the recipes demand fish sauce. I've never used it before, but I'm sure it's unpleasant when it smells like fish. Ford, I thought I'd spread out somewhere.

Okay ... I've got a recipe that suggests using oyster sauce. Somehow I find it more appealing.

1) What is the best in terms of taste?

2) Will the taste of Pad Thai change a lot?

PPS: Good oyster sauce doesn't stink. I was given a bottle of the highest quality fish sauce and it didn't smell like fish at all. Unfortunately, it does taste like fish. Medium range fish sauce is odorless or fishy. :)
