The Setup for the Wi-Fi Range Extender

It increases the reach of the WiFi network by increasing the existing WiFi signal and enhancing the overall quality of the signal over long distances. From an existing WiFi router or access point, the extender repeats the signal. Likewise, in the same method, AP.Setup can be configured.

How to Login the WiFi Extender:

By applying control, position the extender and connect it to your WiFi network. Place the Extender and add power from the electric socket.

  1. Put your extender in the same space as your WiFi router. Note: Proximity to the WiFi router is important only during the initial setup process.

  2. Attach an electrical socket to your extender . The LED Lights of Green Power. When the power LED does not light up, press the power button.

WPS Connecting:

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) allows you to access a secure WiFi network without entering the name and password of the network. No WPS offers WEP network security. If WEP security is used by you,

  1. Click the WPS button on the side-screen of the extender. The WPS LED blinks.
  2. Click the WPS button on your router or access point within two minutes. Your existing WiFi network is connected to the WPS LED on the solid green extender lights, the Router Link LED lights and the extender.
  3. Find the name of the extender’s wireless network name (SSID) and change it to your new WiFi network name…
  4. Link your WiFi devices to the Wavlink Extender Setup. Using the same WiFi password you’re using for your WiFi router.
  5. The position you select must be within your current network range of WiFi routers.
  6. Wire with an extender in an electrical socket. The LED Lights of Green Power. When the power LED does not light up, press the power button. Use the Router Link LED on the front panel to help you choose a place where the extender-to-router connection is best.

NETGEAR Genie Smart Setup

  1. Use a WiFi network manager for locating and connecting NETGEAR_EXT (SSID) to a computer or mobile device. After the connection to the computer or mobile device is built, the Client Link LED lights are set up.
  2. On the same screen or mobile device, open the window of a web browser. The browser takes you directly to the smart Netgear Genie Setup.
  3. Select a WiFi network to extend and then push the Continue button.
  4. Type the network password (also called passphrase or security key) in the Password field and press the Continue button.
  5. Select the Private Network or Public Network radio button, and then click the Continue button.
  6. Type the name (SSID) of your New Extender in the Name area, then press the Continue button.
  7. Using the WiFi network manager of the machine or mobile device to connect to the extender’s newly built WiFi network. Repeat this move for all of your computers and mobile devices.
  8. If there’s still a screen on your computer or phone, click the following check box and hit the Continue button.
  9. With a weak signal for WiFi, unplug the extender and move it to a new location closer to the extender field. The position you pick must fall within the range of your current WiFi router network.
  10. Wire with an extender in an electrical socket. The LED Lights of Green Power. When the power LED does not light up, press the power button. Use the Router Link LED to help you pick a place where the extender-to-router connection is strongest.

The Right Location Find

When the WiFi signal is weak, an arrow LED blinks for two minutes when you first hit the extender network. Adjust the extender’s position if this happens.

There are no arrow LEDs illuminated. In a good spot, the extender is placed.

Router arrows blinking. Move the extender closer to the router.

Blinks with arrows from clients. Move the computer or mobile device next to the extender.

Extending efficacy

These extender LEDs show the WiFi connection: the WiFi signal between the router and the WiFi signal between the extender and the computer or mobile device.

LEDs are color coded:

  • Green suggests the strongest partnership.
  • Amber suggests a close correlation.
  • Red suggests a relationship that is weak.
  • An LED which is off indicates no Wi-Fi link.
