What does Molato mean?

I read about it in Le Comte de Monte-Cristo. I know it's from e, but I want to know what it means.

The Italian word Molato is used to describe a kind of development in Rome in Alexander Dumas' novel The Count of Monte Cristo.

A criminal who will later charge Mulatto, although the book does not confirm that the terrible was indeed Mulatto.

A hammer hit the victim on the head. Then his throat was cut and his stomach was throbbing so that blood could flow from his throat.

It's kind of like ... maybe it was my decision to be beheaded by Domas Monte Cristo.
