How to install multiple operating systems on one hardware?

Download and install Virtual machine:

As said earlier. You need to install virtual machine software for this purpose. Like Virtualbox or VMware workstation. Anyone can install these software. Where VMware charges a bit amount of a fee. And Virtualbox is an open-source tool. Keeping the case of a virtual machine for some other day. Let’s begin with the installation of VMware.

To download the VMware workstation. You need to download its software from the official website “VMware.com”. After downloading the software. In the same manner, you can install it just like regular games. Once you complete this step. You can move forward to the next stage.

Download DMG file:

This is a file format. This is used in my VMWare workstation. For example, if you’re going to install macOS big Sur. So, you need to download macOS big Sur DMG File. Or you are going to install Windows OS. You need its DMG file. The DMG file is freely available online. And we are also going to provide you the link. So, that you can download it without any problem.

Create a virtual machine:

The next step is the virtual machine creation part. Here you need to start up the VMware workstation for the first time to create a virtual machine. This procedure is also quite straightforward.

You just need to start up the software. And on the home page. YOu get a button “Create a new Virtual machine”. Tap on this button to start the virtual machine creation.

During this process, the system gives a step by step instruction to successfully create the machine. Like partition of system’s specs, naming the virtual machine, region, and screen resolution, etc.

Getting this step. Done. You now can move on to the next step. Which is the final one. And you can install the secondary operating system as guest OS.

Install the guest OS:

If you ever installed operating systems. So, here you have an edge. Because the installation is pretty similar to the traditional operating system. If you are installing Windows OS as guest OS. So, its process is same as the its installation on a new computer.

  1. Start the VMware workstation.
  2. Double click on the virtual machine. that you had created prior.
  3. Name the new guest OS. And select the DMG file from the folder it is located. And press Initiate.
  4. Now, the system reboots once, to prepare the system for installation.
  5. After rebooting, you just need to follow the instruction, like language, passwords, etc. Until the system automatically starts the installation.
  6. When the installation starts. It may take up to half hours to complete the installation.

And on successful installation. The system again restarts. And now, you are fully ready to use the guest OS alongside the host OS without any hassle.
