When the receiver detects that the battery has reached a low charge level, the status display changes from normal green flashing every 30 seconds to flashing red every 10 seconds. If your light flashes red twice, it indicates that the battery is low and your pet has challenged the dog grooming system.
If a red light flashes on your pet’s computer collar, the battery in the power cap may need to be replaced. Your fence will still work, but in the event of a power failure, the system will not work until the power is restored.
To test the battery:
- Remove your pet’s receiving collar from your pet.
- Bring the collar into the retention area of the restraint system and listen for the beeps of the collar.
- If the collar beeps or the test light comes on, the battery and collar are working.
Charging too often can shorten battery life. When the Receiver Indicator flashes red, charge the Receiver Collar. The system works by sending a radio signal through an underground wire (perimeter wire). Your pet has a receiver collar that receives the signal.
With a little bit of troubleshooting, you can solve most of the invisible fence problems yourself.
- First, look for simple solutions. If your dog protrudes from the perimeter wire of the invisible fence, he checks the collar first.
- Replace the batteries.
- Correct the error on the transmitter.
- Check the boundary wire.
Dogs often walk through invisible fences in the heat of the moment, but when you get back on the leash you get a painful jolt, a prospect that leaves anyone too afraid to turn around. True fencing and positive training methods that reward dogs for good behavior are humane and effective.
System reset can be as simple as replacing the batteries in the transmitter. Bring your dog and turn off the power at the door. Disconnect the transmitter. Look for metal objects around or above the fence.
Troubleshooting an Invisible Fence
Using the Indicator Light
Remove your pet’s receiver collar. Remove the Battery from the Receiver Collar. Turn off the device by pressing and holding the settings button until the indicator no longer lights up. Move the limit switch of the transmitter from the lower position to the upper position.
Charge the Collar Receiver for 24 hours before charging it for the first time. It only takes 12 hours to load. Note: The light on the receiver flashes after 12 hours of charging.
Test the device Hold the device approximately 23 inches from your mouth and ■■■■ into the microphone as if you were blowing a light to activate the device. Test the device several times in a row to make sure it activates each time. If the device activates every time, you can try the collar on your dog.
