Husqvarna YTH22V46, a 46-inch deck mower, uses SAE 30 general purpose lawn mower oil and SAE 5W30 when cold. These numbers refer to the viscosity of the oil, and changing the type of oil in cold weather will help you get started.
When you change the oil, you may need 20 ounces.
SAE 30 oil is an engine oil that has been assigned a viscosity index of 30 by the Society of Automotive Engineers, according to the AA1Car Automotive Diagnostic Support Center. Motor oils are generally of a grade of 0 to 50.
If you take good care of your lawn mower, your machine will serve you well for many years to come. One overlooked aspect of lawn mower maintenance is how often the oil needs to be changed. Engine oil and oil filter should be changed at least once in spring or summer or every 50 hours of operation, whichever comes first.

Yup! We have changed our engine oil recommendations so that 5W30 (100074WEB) or 10W30 synthetic oil can now be used in all temperature ranges. We recommend using Briggs & Stratton synthetic oil.
Recommendations for Small Engine Oil Types:
Temperature ranges below 32 degrees Fahrenheit require SAE 5W20 oil. Temperature ranges from zero F to approximately 95 F require SAE 10W30 or SAE 10W40 oil. Temperature ranges between 32 F and 95 F require SAE 30 oil. Temperature ranges between 70 F and 100 F require SAE 40 oil.
Standard oil for 4-stroke petrol lawn mower engines is SAE 30 class. Synthetic variants include SAE 5W30 and SAE 10W30.
The oil drain valve on Husqvarna lawn mowers is located under the engine. Open the tractor hood to reveal the engine. It may also be necessary to remove the lower dashboard cover. To remove the dash bottom cover, slowly slide it up and remove the cover when the tabs are out of the conical grooves.
