How to reset a Kenmore Elite HE washer
- Press the stop button twice, then press the power button.
- Select a washing program (eg normal) and then select the washing options (eg hot / cold or cold / cold).
- Press the start button to complete the reset process and restart the washing machine.
To reset the washing machine:
- Press POWER to turn off the washing machine.

Find the serial number of a Whirlpool Kenmore washing machine. The second letter of the serial number indicates the year the machine was manufactured. For example, L stands for 2001, M for 2002 and follows the alphabet, Y for 2009.
