Common conversions with cups and ounces
The following information is for the US cup (236,588 ml) and fluid ounce (fl oz). If you refer to the dry ounce instead, your answer will depend on the ingredient in your mug (since the density of the ingredient is important in this conversion). So you need to read the section below about converting cups to dry ounces.

Conversion between cups and dry ounces (oz)
When converting between cups and dry ounces (ounces), it is important to note that the cup (US, UK, or metric) is a unit of volume and the dry ounce (ounce) is a unit of weight. This means that you need a substance density for the conversion. As a very rough example, a cup of sugar weighs less than a cup of olive oil because olive oil is a denser substance.
I’ve given a list of ingredients to choose from. Please note, however, that these are approximate values - different brands of ingredients will vary slightly. This means that the results you will get are estimates. Ingredient densities were obtained from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and other sources. For a full list of these, see the Baking Ingredient Conversion page.

Which cup should I use?
As you can see from the list of conversion options above, there are different types of cups depending on where in the world you are. Some explanations are included in my forum post. How many ounces is there in a mug?
How many grams is there in a teaspoon?
If you’re looking for a gram to teaspoon conversion table, you won’t find one here. Grams are a measure of mass and teaspoons measure volume. The correct conversion depends on the density of the element to be measured. Water has a density of 1 g / ml, so the conversion is 1 gram to 1 millileter, which is 0.2 teaspoons. Other substances have different densities and each teaspoon weighs a different number of grams.
What language do you measure?
Most countries use the metric system (officially known as the International System of Units), in which each unit is defined in terms of a measurable phenomenon, e.g. B. the distance that light travels in one second. Some English-speaking countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, use measurement systems that come from an ancient system called “English units”. To add to the confusion, these systems all use the same names, such as: B. Pints and Quarts to denote slightly different amounts of measurement. Even within the US, there are differences between the contemporary US system and that used by the US Food and Drug Administration. These differences are small when the amounts are small, but can really add up for larger amounts. For example, a contemporary US teaspoon is 4.93 ml compared to 5 ml in the Britisth Imperial System teaspoon. The difference in a teaspoon of vanilla would be hard to measure even if you tried. However, this difference is much more noticeable when looking at a gallon of milk, which is 3,785 ml in the US versus 4,546 ml in the UK. That’s over 3 US cups more milk when you pay in pounds instead of dollars!
You need to know the conversion relationship; how many ounces = 1 cup?
That relationship is 8 ounces = 1 cup.
Then use the fraction of 1 cup to multiply times the number of ounces that equals 1 cup.
1/4 cup = .25 cup
.25 cup x 8 ounces / 1 cup = 2 ounces
For a visual reference of this, be sure to have a measuring cup with ounces indicated on the side of the cup.
How to convert cups to ounces of water?
1 US cup equals 8 US ounces of change (fl oz). Turn the cups into ounces of water, increase the value of the cup by 8. For example, calculate the amount of oil in 2 cups of water, add 2 to 8, 16 fl oz the 2 cups of water. US cups per ounce of oil per unit oil = 8 cups * 1 US cups = 8 US ounces

Not many countries in the world use measuring ounces. Most use metric system, it is much easier to use. Just add 0 (zero) to a number, or 3 zeros will make it 1000 times more. (grams - kilograms, mica - kilometers). It is nothing but a 3 foot fence, and a 12 inch foot. Does not show mixed miles, gallons, rocks, and so on. No matter your question, is it 1/4 cup water, solid or iron? You cannot compare weight to quantity.
One cup is eight ounces. A quarter of a cup is 2 ounces.
You see, there is this simple tool that you can buy for a little while, that will tell you all this. It is called a MEASURING CUP.
