What is Cornhole Board

Cornhole Board is a lawn game in which two groups or 4 players turn by turn throwing 16 ounces bag of corn kernels at a end of board with a hole in end and scores 3 points when bag in the hole, and score 1 point when bag is on the board. First player or group to reach 21 wins.
This game is very simple.

Origin of the game

Germany is the origin of this game but some people claim that native American Blackhawks tribe invented this game. It was invented in 14th century. Now this game cornhole emerged as a favorite in Cincinnati about 15 years ago and soon spread all across the United States, even in the Empire State. New York Times declared in 2011 that the Midwest’s favorite game is sweeping the Northeast.

Suggestions by players

1. Comfortable stance

First thing you need to do is to find a comfortable stance and throw is to step forward with your opposite foot and then launch the bag with your dominant hand. Make sure your throw is like a golf swing.

2. Keep things simple

Players suggest that don’t overthink about the hole just focus on throwing the bag on board. People who thinks about the hole usually miss it.

3. Relax

90% of people losses game because of too much thinking and win is all in our mind. Breathe and have fun it’s not an intense game.

4. Flat throw and good spin

Flat spinning is important to get your final result which is bag in the hole, throw with good spin.

5. Four shots

Every cornhole player should be master in these 4 shots: Slider, Blocker, Push and Air mail.
Slider landing the bag about 6 inches from the hole on board.
The target of Blocker is dropping the bag near the hole.
Target of push is throw the bag into hole and knocking the blocker out of the way.
Last one Air mail is difficult and exciting shot which directly throw into the hole.

6. Practice

Practicing is a way to become winner of this game. As common saying is that “Practice makes man perfect”.

How to maintain cornhole board

  1. Store in a cool and dry place. Don’t expose it to water and humidity.
  2. Wood of this board should coated by polyurethane because it protects the wood.
  3. During traveling Cornhole Board should keep in
    Protective case which save the board from damage.
  4. Heat, rain, snow and other weather conditions damage the board, to avoid this damage protect it by proper casing and cover.
  5. Try to keep board clean which is very simple things but proper cleaning of board make it new for years.
