What is Equity-Linked Note (ELN)?

  1. Equity Linked Rating (ELN) is an investment product that combines fixed income investments with potential additional returns related to stock performance. Unit-linked notes are usually made to repay the initial investment with a variable interest component depending on the performance of the respective stock. ELNs can be configured in different ways, but the vanilla version works like a ribbon bow with call options on the call section, stock basket or indexes like S&P 500 or DJIA. In the case of stock index notes, security is commonly referred to as stock index notes.
