A Honeywell thermostat can work in general, and this is what causes its inability to maintain temperature. If the screen is blank and unresponsive or flashing, the thermostat status batteries may be low. Dirt or debris in the thermostat can also cause problems.
If you don’t have a PIN, you can still use the Nest app to unlock your thermostat.

Connect thermostat to WiFi
Step 1: Check your settings and restart
If you work directly on the thermostat - and not via the Sensi app - set the thermostat in cooling mode. Lower the setpoint a few degrees below the ambient temperature. After 10 seconds, increase the setting a few degrees above room temperature. If the thermostat does NOT click, reset the thermostat.
Wire C is an additional wire that can be used to provide a 24 VDC return path for all applications. It is typically used to provide a return line for thermostat operation. C stands for together. It is often labeled with c on the back plates of the thermostat.
A Sensi Thermostat Security Code is supplied with the newly purchased Sensi Thermostat Box. The Sensi security code can be found on a sticker in the upper left corner on the back of the front of the Sensi thermostat, as shown below.
You need to create a Sensi account with an email address. After downloading the Sensi app and creating an account, you can install the thermostat on your wall and connect it to WiFi. If a thermostat is not registered yet, the Sensi app will ask you to add a thermostat.
