The Secret Ingredient; Flour!
Most of the people usually do a double-take after noticing flour as the secret key ingredient in such a recipe. But it is important to notify that the four basically helps to make the liquid egg-mixture more of a thick batter having perfect consistency which would definitely yield extra delicious and fluffy French-toast. After adding the flour into the egg-mixture, the batter can be whisked well simply by hands, or a sound electric hand-mixer or beater can also be used for this purpose. Another convenient method is to add all of the ingredients into a blender if one is willing to do so, but keep one thing in mind, don’t over-mix the batter.
Milk is also a significant ingredient in order to achieve a creamy and rich flavor. While looking for the type of milk for the recipe, keep one thing in mind that higher the fat content in milk, the creamier and richer the batter is. The whole-milk does work great too. In fact, a minute splash of cream can also be added into the egg-mixture if one wants to do so.
Equipment Required/Recommended;
Any kind of shallow dish or bowl will work great. Also, a deep pie-pan or an 11×7 baking pan fits perfectly in order to whisk the batter well and to further soak in the bread slices at once. Most importantly, it is always preferable to go for a non-sticky pan. In order to cook more than one slice at one time, a griddle is preferred.
What to Serve on/with French-Toast;
Any homemade pancake syrup, powdered/ caster/ icing sugar and fresh fruits are always being preferred on the top of French-Toast. One can also add a drizzle of Nutella, a sprinkle of coconut or a dollop of whipped cream. One of the most important and famous topping-ingredients is the Maple syrup which is a syrup generally extract from the xylem sap of black maple, red maple and sugar maple trees although it can also be extracted from various maple species.
