Definition of Consumer Advisory Council (CAC):

  1. Established by Congress in 1976, the Consumer Advisory Council advises the Federal Reserve. The CAC is made up of 30 members who focus on issues relating to consumer interest and creditor interest. The Federal Reserve has two other advisory committees: the Federal Advisory Council and the Thrift Institutions Advisory Council.
