Definition of Baud (Bd):
The earliest measure of the speed at which digital data is transmitted between computers is through a modem on a common telephone line (copper). The last and most common measurement is the number of bits per second (bps). It was named after JME Baudot (18451903), a French telecommunications pioneer and inventor of the teleprinter.
The transmission rate is equal to the number of units that change every second in the state of the signal. For signals with only two possible states, one is slightly equivalent to one bod per second.
